A gift shop was a store attached to a tourist attraction, in which souvenirs could be purchased.
In 2153, while traversing a cave on Xantoras with Travis Mayweather and Malcolm Reed, Trip Tucker commented that the last cave he visited had handrails, a gift shop, and a snack bar. (ENT: "The Breach")
