For the Pocket TNG novel, please see Ghost Ship.

The term ghost ship described a ship on which no living personnel were present.

In 2368, Jean-Luc Picard felt that the USS Essex's status as an apparent ghost ship, combined with the storm activity surrounding it made checking out the ship too risky. Deanna Troi disputed that claim, saying she sensed there was a living individual still present. (TNG: "Power Play")

In 2373, B'Elanna Torres compared a Borg cube she was visiting to a ghost ship. Tuvok felt that her expression of fear was counterproductive to the task at hand. (VOY: "Unity")
