Gerry Conway (born 10 September 1952; age 71) was one of the primary writers of the Star Trek comic strip in 1983.
He has been a professional writer since he was sixteen. He has written a wide variety of materials including comic books, novels, short stories, screenplays, and television shows. In the comics industry, is he best known for his run on The Amazing Spider-Man, during which Gwen Stacey died and The Punisher was introduced to the Marvel universe. His other main creation was with Al Milgrom, the DC character Firestorm.
He authored the final five arcs of the series, beginning 14 February 1983 and ending 3 December 1983:
