Gene L. Coon was a 20th century science fiction author. In the 1950s, he wrote the story "Metamorphosis", which was published in the March 1953 issue of Incredible Tales magazine. He was a co-writer with Robert Hamner of the story "Attack on Planet Eminiar Seven" for the August 1953 issue of Astounding Science Fiction. (DS9: "Far Beyond the Stars")
