Gene L. Coon was a 20th century science fiction author. In the 1950s, he wrote the story "Metamorphosis", which was published in the March 1953 issue of Incredible Tales magazine. He also wrote the story "Eminiar Seven" for the August 1953 issue of Astounding Science Fiction. (DS9: "Far Beyond the Stars")

He was named after Star Trek: The Original Series writer and producer Gene L. Coon.
