Eugene "Gene" Griffith was the Key Grip on Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan under cinematographer Gayne Rescher.

Griffith has gripped several made-for-television movies for Rescher, including the NBC dramas The Scarlett O'Hara War (featuring Clive Revill, Don Keefer, and Warren Munson) and The Silent Lovers (starring Brian Keith), both directed by John Erman. Griffith and Rescher also collaborated on the TV movies The Pride of Jesse Hallam, Murder Me, Murder You (featuring Jonathan Banks), Toughlove (featuring Janet MacLachlan and Helene Udy), and Love Among Thieves (featuring Samantha Eggar).

Griffith was also the key grip on the Emmy Award-winning NBC drama Sybil. In addition, he has gripped such films as the 1976 horror thriller Carrie and the hit 1988 Paramount Pictures comedy The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (starring Ricardo Montalban).
