Garadius IV was the fourth planet in the Garadius planetary system. This was an inhabited planet, which faced internal problems in the 2360s.
In 2368, the USS Enterprise-D was on the way to this planet, when the ship helped a disabled Romulan science vessel. After finishing the repairs of the Romulan ship, the Enterprise received a message, that the diplomatic situation on Garadius IV was deteriorating, and they were needed there as soon as possible, forcing a memorial service for Geordi La Forge and Ro Laren, lost in a transporter accident while aiding the Romulans, to be cut short. Just before going on warp en route to Garadius IV, which would have destroyed the ship due to the Romulans secretly transferring muons to the dilithium chamber, the ship was saved – by Geordi La Forge and Ro Laren, who had in fact been "cloaked", thrown out of phase, and once restored told the crew of the Romulan plot. The muons were subsequently removed, before the Enterprise resumed course to Garadius IV. (TNG: "The Next Phase")
