Fricandeau stew was a type of stew from Earth that includeds specially prepared veal (meat of a cow calf). Miles O'Brien was fond of fricandeau stew but his wife, Keiko, was not.
When O'Brien was replaced by a replicant and his identity was uncertain, Keiko made the stew for him, along with endive salad and sweet flan for dessert. He became suspicious, given that Keiko willingly fixed a meal she did not like and proceeded not to eat any of it. She stared intently at him, and he, becoming suspicious, claimed he wasn't hungry.
