Fred G. Smith is an actor who played a Rutian policeman in the Star Trek: The Next Generation third season episode "The High Ground".

He also appeared in the 1986 comic thriller The Manhattan Project along with fellow The Next Generation guest actors Timothy Carhart, J.D. Cullum, Stephen Markle, and Robert Schenkkan, and Star Trek: Voyager guest stars Dan Butler and Adrian Sparks. In 1989, he was seen in an episode of Doogie Howser, M.D. with series regulars James B. Sikking and Lawrence Pressman and fellow guest star Bruce Gray. Smith's other credits include featured parts in episodes of The Equalizer (1986, directed by Richard Compton) and Lucky Luke (1992-1993, with Fritz Sperberg).
