Fran Murphy is a costumer who worked on several Star Trek projects. In addition, she was a key costumer for Borg Invasion 4D at Star Trek: The Experience.

Murphy started to work in the costume department as wardrobe's assistant and costumer/ set costumer on Child's Play 3 (1991), Beethoven (1992), the comedy series Major Dad (1991-1993), A Burning Passion: The Margaret Mitchell Story (1994), and Naomi & Wynonna: Love Can Build a Bridge (1994).

Further credits as costumer include Carried Away (1996, with Lisa A. Doyle and Anette Czagany), Dead Man's Island (1996, starring William Shatner), First Kid (1996), the drama The War at Home (1996), Truth or Consequences, N.M. (1997), Gia (1998, with Sonny Merritt), the comedy series Working (1997-1998), the television special Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman: The Movie (1999), O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000, with Cha Blevins and Steve Constancio), Little Nicky (2000), and Joy Ride (2001, with Bega Metzner).

Murphy worked as additional costumer on Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003, with Rochelle Best), Starsky & Hutch (2004, with Lois DeArmond and Grace Pyke), Spider-Man 2 (2004), Sleepover (2004), Spanglish (2004), Lackawanna Blues (2005), and The Pursuit of Happyness (2006). Credits as key costumer/ set costumer include Ray (2004), Guess Who (2005), The Longest Yard (2005), The TV Set (2006), Dreamgirls (2006), Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee (2007), and Out of Jimmy's Head (2007).

More recently Murphy was an additional costumer on Semi-Pro (2008) and Bones (2007-2009) and Brannon Braga's FlashForward (2009).
