Is there a place that lists release dates for various Trek episodes & movies on Betamax, VCD, PAL, etc? I've found a site that lists LaserDisc, CED and DVD. Ideally, I'd like to add info to each episode's production history saying when it was released in each format. -- StAkAr Karnak 20:59, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Um, I would think it would be on the individual episode/movie articles and possibly the series articles. Makes sense to put it in either production history, or maybe in the sidebar. Probably production history. --OuroborosCobra talk 21:12, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
This has already been discussed, and a template has been created for suggestion: Template:Sidebar episode releases. See also the talk page over there - probably needs some more work before we're going to add it to all episode articles... -- Cid Highwind 22:03, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Clarification - I am looking for external lists so that I can incorporate the info into MA. I've already done this with a few episode articles (mostly TOSr like "The City on the Edge of Forever") with LaserDisc and DVD releases using this site. I found VHS release dates on Amazon but have been unable thus far to find Betamax release dates. Even if they were just years, it'd be nice to have this info.

On a related topic, since we have a page on DVDs, what about corresponding pages for other release formats, like Laserdiscs, VHS, etc.? -- StAkAr Karnak 22:08, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Are we even sure that there were releases on vcd and betamax? And just look for the uk releases of the vhs and dvd for pal dates. --6/6 Subspace 04:44, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

I've seen VCDs and Betamax on eBay, and they look legit. Amazon doesn't provide release dates for UK media. -- StAkAr Karnak 23:31, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

My mom bought a vary legit looking Region 1 DVD of Disney's Song of the South on eBay. Disney never released it on DVD, let alone DVD Region 1. Don't believe anything you see on eBay. --6/6 Subspace 07:05, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Point taken. I've seen Trek Betamax tapes on Betamax collectors' sites, but I agree that VCDs are questionable. How is there a market for such things when you can buy DVDs? I dunno. -- StAkAr Karnak 12:51, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

I remember seeing Star Trek lazer discs in an MVC store in the UK. It was a fair few years back, and I'm afraid I can't remember the specific date, but I'm fairly certain one was Voyager's 'Basics'. Hope it helps.
