When were the title cards added to episode infoboxes? Was there any discussion about this? I'm not sure what that adds to the infobox. 31dot (talk) 16:07, July 17, 2016 (UTC)

I think it's a nice idea. I wonder if the title card should be on top instead, though. Unsure. --LauraCC (talk) 19:35, July 28, 2016 (UTC)

I wouldn't say that I advocate removing it, but I don't really see the point. I'm also not sure if we need both that and an image from the episode in the infobox. 31dot (talk) 19:56, July 28, 2016 (UTC)

Well, while one usually shows a picture of vague space or the bridge crew doing normal stuff, the other shows an image which (supposedly) gives a hint to the main thrust of the plot. Sorta like the front cover of a book and its jacket, or inside cover. --LauraCC (talk) 20:06, July 28, 2016 (UTC)
See "The Schizoid Man" for a perfect example of what I'm talking about. --LauraCC (talk) 20:51, July 28, 2016 (UTC)

I guess the gist of my opinion is that I would question if we need both in the infobox- a picture to tell us the title of the episode(which we already know since it is the title of the article), and a picture giving the thrust of the episode. I dunno. Maybe I'm making too much of this. 31dot (talk) 21:00, July 28, 2016 (UTC)

Maybe. Think of it this way; it illustrates the short synopsis at the beginning. More detailed illustration can follow in the body pf the article. --LauraCC (talk) 21:05, July 28, 2016 (UTC)
I support keeping the title cards, at least for now. They have been and continue to be extremely helpful for knowing which articles are misnamed and which articles can be relied on for the spelling and formatting of the names. --Defiant (talk) 06:12, July 29, 2016 (UTC)
When I put them in place, this was my main goal for them. It's also (in my opinion) nice to see the different way the titles are formatted between shows, movies, etc.
I put them at the end of the sidebar because the opening image is one that's typically far more representative of the episode in general.
Finally, we have two images (or more) in most other sidebars... episodes are, grand scheme of things, one of our centrepieces. Why not have a pair of images in them? -- sulfur (talk) 11:51, July 29, 2016 (UTC)
I see no problem featuring two files in the infobox. I also see a value having the title cards in the episode articles. Tom (talk) 16:31, July 29, 2016 (UTC)
