I created {{Talkpage}} for use on all of the talk pages. This should stop new comments from being added to the top of the pages as well as remove most duplicated text already on the episode talk pages. Thoughts? - Archduk3 19:01, June 26, 2010 (UTC)

I already commented on its talk page already. Comments being added in the middle doesn't happen super often, and mostly by anons, who put new stuff in the middle, no matter whether you have a "start a new discussion" thing or not. -- sulfur 19:05, June 26, 2010 (UTC)

This is also to replace the text duplicated on the episode talk pages, which is the point of a template. :) Also, based on your comment on the talk page, {{Startdiscussion}} could just be made smaller. We have that template without really using it, and if it stops even a few, it was worth it. - Archduk3 19:11, June 26, 2010 (UTC)

Usually my crazy ideas generate more comments then this...should I take this resounding silence to be acceptance of my madness, or is everybody just as busy as I've been offline? Also, assuming this was put into use, I don't know if there is a way for talk pages to auto load with this, or if a bot would be needed to add it after the fact. - Archduk3 01:50, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

It may just be comparably uncontroversial... ;) In fact, I have no big complaints about it myself - but wonder whether it wouldn't be better to get the episode information from the page name instead of allowing to configure it. For example, there's no need for "Talk:A (episode)" to have a header with details for "B (episode)" - so the episode title could just be gathered from the page name, simplifying the template call to {{Talkpage|ep}}. -- Cid Highwind 09:04, July 8, 2010 (UTC)
Sounds alright to me as well. If it's going to be on all talk pages, maybe it should have a little note with a link to Help:Talk pages as well. This could help avoid some of the common mistakes by new and unregistered users.– Cleanse ( talk | contribs ) 10:13, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

After mulling this over, the only thing I can come up with that would fill in the information from the page name while still working with the {{Episode maintenance links}} and {{Film maintenance links}} templates is two switches, one with 727 variables and one with 11. There must be a simpler way. - Archduk3 21:11, August 19, 2010 (UTC)

...or two switches with 727 variables FTW! I already got these on the film pages and did a little test run on TAS. Besides the help link, which I plan to get to tonight, and maybe shrinking {{startdiscussion}}, though I think events have proven that this would be a help, is there anything else that should be done before I try constructing an omnipresent bot to rain down this template and doom upon us? - Archduk3 01:51, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
