I think it would be nice and useful (although I have no idea how hard it would be to implement it technically) if each episode and film would be tagged in categories such as themes (love, friendship, religion, ethical dilemmas, betrayal, desperate measures, politics etc), mood (comedic, somber etc), technique (flashbacks, first person omniscience etc) in-universe (the borg, romulans, janeway-centric, holodeck, time travel etc) etc... There would then be a (prominently featured) tag portal where all these tags would be listed (perhaps even as clouds), where you would be able to click on one or multiple tags to see a list of episodes and or films corresponding to those tags. I think it would be a great way to find specific content - and a good research tool.
Great prudence would of course have to be exercised in the organization, selection and maintenance of these tags (and the question of how detailed they should be), but I hope that such a thing is possible. I would be thrilled. --Toddas 17:55, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Something along these lines has been suggested at least twice, both times the community didn't seem to like the idea very much.
