What are the rules regarding english and american english spelling variances? I usually only convert them to american if there's something else in the edit i am fixing already. The reason I do is because Star Trek is an american creation but that doesn't really justify my changing them and just thought i'd get an opinion on the topic. Thanks --Morder 05:09, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Per Memory Alpha:Manual of Style#Spelling and Style Choices, we have a policy of following American spelling rather than English. This is for the reason you said, it is an American production. Hope that answers your question :) --OuroborosCobra talk 05:14, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick response. I didn't see that section in the rules, I'll have to check that later. I really just didn't want to be presumptuous and assume anything since it appears that a lot of people from europe edit this wiki.--Morder 05:35, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
