When Kirk leaves the Enterprise in Star Trek to go to Nero's ship with Spock, he seemingly leaves Sulu in charge (giving him orders to attack if he thinks he has the advantage). In Into Darkness, he gives Sulu the bridge when he, Spock and Uhura go to Kronos. In the first instance, Scotty is manning the transporter station, and in the second he isn't a member of the crew at that point. Does this make Sulu the Second Officer in this universe (replacing the role Scotty had in the Prime Universe)? --Ima Wiz Iway amway Imagineway Izardway. 19:16, June 28, 2013 (UTC)
- Some further indications that Sulu has more authority than Scott: Sulu vouched for the torpedoes when Scotty would not allow it, and in the Countdown to Darkness comic Uhura has the command chair when Sulu is part of an away team with Kirk and Spock. None of it is confirmed but it could be worth noting. --Alientraveller (talk) 20:03, June 28, 2013 (UTC)
