What's the current resource policy for images? Are we allowing scans from officially licensed magazines, such as Star Trek: Communicator and the official magazines of TNG, DS9 and VOY? There is, for example, some production graphics in the first issue of The Official Star Trek: Voyager Magazine that I think would be really insightful to have on the site. --Defiant 00:47, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

We've used them before, as long as we don't publish every image from an article (for example) and limit our use to relevant locations, cite things properly, and use the correct license ({{image fairuse interior art}}) it seems to be ok thus far. -- sulfur 00:55, July 16, 2010 (UTC)
Of course, they would be background information... -- sulfur 00:55, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, got it! And the "limit our use" guideline is a clause of the fairuse copyright license, so I was already aware of it. But thanks for confirming that such pics are okay to use; I was a bit unsure, though thought they likely would be, due to their officially licensed nature. --Defiant 02:31, July 16, 2010 (UTC)
