Forums ForumsReference Desk → No mention of the transporter. (replywatch)

In the ENT episode "The Communicator", when Archer and Reed are captured, Trip suggests that they use the Suliban stealth ship to retrieve them. Wouldn't it make more sense to use the transporter and simply beam Archer and Reed up along with all their equipment? The transporter as an option is not even mentioned. There is no reason why they couldn't use it. The crew is apprehensive to use it but nevertheless they are willing to consider it an option in other episodes. It's not like the soldiers could do anything about it. At the end of the episode, the crew manages to make matters worse by making the Alliance look like they are capable of stealth technology. Wouldn't it be better to leave them with a mystery by beaming Archer and Reed up instead of possibly escalating a war between the two factions? --Bailbondsman (talk) 20:33, July 20, 2012 (UTC)
