I have three concerns, regarding the part when Khan activates the Genesis device:
1) Why did Sulu use the trajectory featured in the movie? Kirk precisely asked for getting out of here, as quickly as possible. Why not flee in a vector total opposite from Reliant's direction? Much more effective from my point of view...
2) Considering the Enterprise's condition at that time, would a 4000 kilometers distance from the Reliant be acceptable in 3:30 from Kirk's mark?
I read in 2010: Odyssey Two that the Enterprise could make the run from Jupiter to Earth in a hour in full impulse power. Another article from memory alpha relates that at warp 0.5, which is between 0,304 and 0,496 times the speed of light. Could the Enterprise be so crippled, even after 2 hours of repairs, that it can barely hit 19 km/s (69000 km/h)?
One thing that also troubles me is the changing points of view in Enterprise and Reliant screens. Normally, Enterprise is roughly 45 degrees starboard from Reliant. But, appearing once in Enterprise's screen, Reliant is shown in the opposite direction. Furthermore, ship dimension in the screens are not consistent (sometimes bigger, sometimes smaller, without distance factor.) I believe this is a production error.
I cannot forbid myself to add that the 4:00 Genesis Device activation time is longer than real time. Obviously, this is a detail that can be easily fixed as the shown sequence is not in real time (there are cuts that could be mixed together.)
