It seems that Geordi has frequently been subjected to either direct or indirect torture at the hands of various bad guys - Romulans, Data under the influence of Lore, Dr Tolian Soran, etc. Is it because he is such a likeable character that the writers frequently put him in these circumstances? It seems that of all the STNG crew he ends up strapped down with some painful device inserted into his body more than any other. I am interested in others thoughts about Geordi's use in this way.– The preceding unsigned comment was added by 220.127.116.11 (talk).
- It's probably a similar phenomenon to "O'Brien Must Suffer" on DS9 (see Miles O'Brien#Background). Geordi is a character we can relate to, so it gets the audience involved when he suffers.– Cleanse ( talk | contribs ) 12:21, March 7, 2010 (UTC)
