I think it was last year that some members of the community decided that stunt doubles should not get a category "Performers", only the category "Stunt performers". After this discussion we've changed the categories of every stunt performer who "only" doubled in Star Trek. Why is Nedra Rosemond a different case? – Tom 21:00, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
- Perhaps a Category:TOS stunt performers is due...so as to be more precise about where and when (the series) she (and others like her) performed in. It has been my interpretation from day 1 that the Category:TOS performers was to catalog all TOS actors (regardless of role), as she is, after all, a TOS performer. Also, I would like to see this discussion you speak of. --Alan 21:37, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
If my memory is correct this discussion was on IRC and Shran took part of it. Personally I don't have a problem including also the stunt doubles to the performers list because they appear on screen. Maybe a discussion should follow this. If we'll create the category you've linked above, it should be specified that ALL stunt performers are in this category, including the stunt doubles and stunt actors and we need this category for every series and for the movies. – Tom 21:44, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
- If this was just an IRC discussion this has to be made formal and part of our polecies. What you both said sounds reasonable. we should create those new categories (for stunt actors and all the five series). --Jörg 21:53, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed, IRC discussions should be taken with a grain of said until they are transcribed or carried over to MA, and really shouldn't be interpreted as "the community decided" this, when no one but the people involved in chat are aware the discussion even took place. And while I read your explanation on Category talk:Stunt performers about their designations, clearly the nuances of this are far more complicated that Memory Alpha is set up for accommodating. As it was, prior to my addition of the series performer's category to said performer, there was no indication as to which series she performed in, which is, by my understanding of the process, the entire point of having performers categorized by series. --Alan 21:55, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
- By my understanding, the performers categories was to only be used on pages for actors and actresses. However, the name of the category &ndash, i.e. TOS performers – indicates that the performer categories should also include stuntmen, since they are, technically, performers. I'm not sure what the hell to do about this. Maybe we should categorize them as both "stunt performers" and "TOS performers," etc. --From Andoria with Love 07:05, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
