Was wondering if anyone in Star Fleet ever wears Body armor or any type of Protection other than space suits for outside activity

Burke (Chief)

Body armor?

EVA doesn't seem to be enormously common, and certainly doesn't seem to be a combat activity. Therefore, there isn't much reason for body armor any more than astronauts today. As for ground troops, they do appear to wear some sort of flexible, but heavier material, presumably some sort of future body armor designed to handle energy weapons. --OuroborosCobra talk 02:38, February 10, 2010 (UTC)

thanks for the reply. Just to clarify, Im really new at Star Trek and just started getting into it a few weeks ago. After watching the new movie and a few episodes from the original series, it just seemed weird to me that the most important crew officers put themselves in danger with no body armor. ps. What's Eva? I tried searching that and couldn't find out what that meant.

That would be short for Extra-vehicular activity, or any work done away from a starship or starbase; which should not be confused with an EVA, which leads to frustration/depression and all around bad times, or any of the other meanings of the word/acronym eva. :) - Archduk3 05:23, February 10, 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, and yes I wont confuse it for EVA lol
