Forums ForumsTen Forward → Big problem since Friday? (replywatch)

Hi folks: I noticed that the Memory Alpha traffic took a dive in the last few days -- it was normal up to Thursday, and then since Friday, the wiki suddenly lost about 30% of its traffic. It looks like the same number of people are coming to the wiki, but there's something that's making them leave -- the exit rate is a lot higher than it usually is.

Have you guys noticed anything since Friday that would be driving people away from the site? Is there some technical problem that's been giving people a lot of headaches? I'm only seeing this on Memory Alpha, not any of the other wikis.

Let me know if you've seen anything... If there's something that's driving people away, we want to get it fixed! -- Danny (talk) 22:39, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

So far I've noticed the site was very slow at the weekend. But nothing more. – Tom 22:46, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Much slower than usual? That might have been it. Are you still seeing slowness now? It seems pretty speedy to me. -- Danny (talk) 22:51, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
The only technical problem I've had is the one described in this page, but obviously it hasn't driven me away.--31dot 22:58, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Yeah -- that sounds annoying, but not something that would cause people to flee. :) Sannse asked on that forum page if somebody's been playing with the js... Have there been any changes to the css or js in the last few days? There might be something that seems fine to most people, but causes problems for a particular browser. -- Danny (talk) 23:05, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
No problems now. The speed is as always. – Tom 23:26, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
I looked into it some more, and it looks like it was a problem for people using Internet Explorer. I'm not sure if it was just IE6, or both 6 and 7. Does anybody here use IE? -- Danny (talk) 23:29, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
