A Folsom point was a type of carved rock that was used as the head of a spear or arrow; such a Folsom point was discovered in New Mexico, North America in 1925.
Spock noticed that the spears used by the anthropoid inhabitants of Taurus II employed a head that resembled the Folsom point, although its shaft was more crude. (TOS: "The Galileo Seven")
