The Florida Keys were a group of islands off the southeastern tip of Florida. The islands were regularly threatened by hurricanes and tropical storms.
In May of 2151, Commander Charles Tucker III was a member of a landing party on a planet which would later be known as Archer IV. When a storm swept through the landing party's location at approximately eighty kilometers per hour, Commander Tucker commented that it seemed light compared to a hurricane coming up through the Florida Keys. (ENT: "Strange New World")
In a deleted scene from "Shuttlepod One", Tucker recalled teaching Jonathan Archer to dive, saying he'd come down to the Keys at least once a month and ace everything Trip tried to teach him.
