Early wire-frame CGI model by Santa Barbara Studios for the episode TNG: "Masks". (Cinefantastique, Vol.25, No.6/Vol.26, No.1, page 54)

Though both comet and D'Arsay archive were to be translated into CGI models, the USS Enterprise-D was not. In post-production the wire-frame model was replaced by stock-footage of either the physical two-foot model or the four foot model.
