"Apparently so."
"Why?"
"I have no idea.

The Saltah'na clock was the replica of a mechanical clock from the ancient Saltah'na species of the Gamma Quadrant.

In 2369, while being affected by an energy matrix from the Saltah'na energy spheres, Commander Benjamin Sisko built this clock from a blueprint. After the crew was freed from the field, Sisko kept the clock, although he had no memory of building it. (DS9: "Dramatis Personae")

Sisko displayed the Saltah'na clock in his office on board Deep Space 9. (DS9: "The Maquis, Part I", "The Way of the Warrior")

In an alternate timeline, Jake Sisko kept this clock in his house in Louisiana on Earth. (DS9: "The Visitor")

Sisko did some repairs on the clock in early 2372. (DS9: "Hippocratic Oath")

The clock was designed by Ricardo Delgado. (Star Trek Encyclopedia (3rd ed., p. 426))
The clock was also an accessory for the Benjamin Sisko action figure, released by Playmates Toys in 1995.
