A Federation Excelsior-class cruiser rendezvousing with the Galaxy-class USS Enterprise-D.

This image was used in multiple Star Trek productions as different subjects.
The footage of this shot, originally filmed at Industrial Light & Magic for Encounter at Farpoint, was later reused throughout The Next Generation representing the Enterprise rendezvousing with a number of ships.
Overlooked by the digital artists at CBS Digital is the just barely discernible "NCC-2541" registry on the aft portion of the warp nacelles, as the Repulse (NCC-2544), providing on-screen confirmation that the studio model was indeed relabeled USS Hood (NCC-2541) in 1987 for season 1 of TNG.
