Ekosians in a Nazi news broadcast on Ekos in 2268. (TOS-R: "Patterns of Force")

Taken from an actual, historical contemporary German newsreel, the two tanks featured in he foreground are the historical SdKfz 265 Panzerbefehlswagen, whereas the third tank is its progenitor, the Panzer I, both German-made and used in the early stages of World War II. The absence of clearly discernible white crosses on the tanks, indicates that the footage was not from the September 1939 invasion of Poland, where the Panzerbefehlswagen was for the first time deployed by the Wehrmacht, but rather from the May 1940 Blitzkrieg campaign in the West (no tank units were deployed in the Scandinavian campaign the month previously, as they were assembling on the Belgian/Luxembourg border for the May campaign) showing the advance through either Belgium or northern France. The very distinctive headgear of the tank commanders was abolished by the time of later campaigns.
