Background information[]

  • During the production of this issue, Kim Yale took Kenneth Penders to lunch to inform him that her position as editor on the Star Trek line was in danger, and that she would not be able to support him in her intentions to bring him on as a regular artist on the Trek line. By the time that Penders turned in his final pages, Yale had been replaced by Alan Gold, an editor that did not appear to care for Penders' style of storytelling. [1]
