David S. Grant has been the CBS Television Distribution Multimedia Vice President since October 2010 who has overseen along with Ryan Adams the remastered version of Star Trek: The Next Generation between July 2011 and January 2014. He previously worked as Vice President of Television Mastering/Editorial at CBS on Star Trek: The Original Series. Grant was interviewed for the 2012 TNG Season 1 Blu-ray special feature Energized! Taking The Next Generation to the Next Level.

The in-universe characters David Grant Raymond in the episode "The Neutral Zone", David Grant in "The Outrageous Okona", and David Grant in "Inheritance" were named after him.

Grant started to work as assistant producer on television series such as The Dukes of Hazzard (1979), Shadow Chasers (1985-1986), Shell Game (1987), and Ohara (1987) and as associate producer for several television movies and the television series Nightingales (1989, starring Roxann Dawson and Fran Bennett) and Blue Skies (1994). Between 1990 and 1993 he oversaw the production of over 45 movies of the week as Director of post production at Wilshire Court Productions.

Further employments include Director of Operations at Skywalker Sound South, Lucas Digital Ltd. (1993-1995), Post Production Supervisor at 20th Century Fox (1995), Senior Director of Post Production at Hearst Entertainment (1995-1997), Archive Consultant at 20th Century Fox (1997-1998), and Executive Director of Archives/Anti-Piracy at 20th Century Fox (1998-2001).

In 2001 he joined Paramount Pictures/ Viacom as Consultant on the Digital Mastering and in 2006 he became Executive Director of Television Mastering at CBS/Paramount. Together with Ryan Adams he has overseen the HD remastering of over two hundred CBS/Paramount Pictures television series such as I Love Lucy and Twin Peaks.
