The Ferengi Benevolent Association was a charitable organization formed by Grand Nagus Zek in 2371. Zek funded the charity with his own personal fortune.
Quark's quarters on Deep Space 9 were the Association's headquarters for the sector. Rom was made the Association's senior administrator. One act he performed in this capacity was to order a relief shipment sent by high-warp courier, an expensive proposition. It was later revealed that Zek had met with the Prophets, who had reverted him to be a less financially driven Ferengi. Zek was later restored to normal and the Association was dissolved, with Rom amassing a small fortune, thanks to his embezzlement of some of its finances. (DS9: "Prophet Motive")
