The Federal Bureau of Investigation, or FBI, was a American government crime-fighting organization.
In 1968, Roberta Lincoln at first assumed her employers and Gary Seven worked for the FBI when she learned they were not researching for a new encyclopedia as claimed. (TOS: "Assignment: Earth")
After being discovered onboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), Pavel Chekov was interrogated by an FBI agent in 1986, who believed that he was a "Ruskie." (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
