Fahleena III was the inhabited third planet in its star system.
Along with Mariah IV and Ultima Thule, Fahleena III was a stop on a route formerly taken by Valerian traders supplying weapons-grade dolamide to the Cardassians.
The Valerian transport ship Sherval Das visited this planet in 2369. (DS9: "Dramatis Personae")
"fah-LEE-nuh" was the pronunciation for this planet's name from the script pronunciation guide. However, StarTrek.com has the pronunciation as "fell-LEE-nuh". Futhermore, this website located the primary Fahleena in the Bajor-Cardassia region of the Alpha Quadrant.
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 46) and the Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), the Fahleena system was in the Alpha Quadrant. This was a trinary star system with two M-class stars and a K-class star.
