Evan Carlos Somers (2 July 195811 October 2010; age 52) was a writer who worked on three episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and one episode of Star Trek: Voyager. He was interviewed in The Official Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Magazine issue 6, pp. 57-63 by Bill Florence for the article "Evan Carlos Somers: Writer".

Beside his work on Star Trek, Somers also wrote episodes for Baywatch (1996, directed by Reza Badiyi), Space Cases (1996) and Beast Wars: Transformers (1998, with voice actor David Sobolov).

In 2005 he wrote, directed, executive produced and starred in the documentary The Seeker and in 2013 he was remembered in the documentary CinemAbility in which he was also interviewed. The latter one also featured David L. Lander and Benito Martinez.
