Vaskan race riot

Rioters enter a museum during a race riot

An ethnic conflict, ethnic strife, or race riot was a conflict or riot between groups of people which was caused by ethnic, racial, or species related tensions.

In 2373, Riley Frazier noted to Kathryn Janeway that there was no ethnic conflict within the Borg Collective. (VOY: "Unity")

In 2374, Captain Benjamin Sisko fell under the influence of visions from the Prophets and Pah-wraiths. During an illusory 1953 on Earth, Douglas Pabst objected to Benny Russell's story about a negro captain, partially out of fear that it might cause a race riot. (DS9: "Far Beyond the Stars")

In 2399, Vashti, once a Romulan Relocation Hub for the Romulan supernova, saw ethnic strife. (PIC: "Absolute Candor")

During the 31st century, Vaskans engaged in a race riot on the Kyrian and Vaskan homeworld. Although tensions had been building for some time, the catalyst were accusations of revisionist history at the Museum of Kyrian Heritage, and at one point rioters entered the museum and smashed exhibits. The unrest, which also included protests and vandalism, continued even after the museum was cordoned off. At least two people were killed. (VOY: "Living Witness")
