Emony Dax (played by Chase Masterson during Jadzia Dax's zhian'tara in the episode "Facets") was the third host of the Dax symbiont. She was an Olympic gymnast who found that her concentration and physical coordination improved after she was joined with Dax, despite her fears prior to joining that they would be affected. (DS9: "Facets", "Take Me Out to the Holosuite")
Emony was once on Earth to judge a gymnastics competition at the University of Mississippi, where she met Leonard McCoy. Years later, Dax would comment that she had a feeling that he would become a doctor -- "he had the hands of a surgeon." (DS9: "Trials and Tribble-ations")
- The Star Trek Encyclopedia speculates that Emony and McCoy met around 2245, but this is only speculation, based on the fact that McCoy could not have yet entered medical school when they knew each other.
Emony had the unusual habit of standing on her head to relax herself. (DS9: "Afterimage")
During Jadzia Dax's zhian'tara in 2371, Leeta embodied Emony's memories and personality.
