The "elixir of endurance" was an energy drink created by Neelix in an alternate timeline in 2374 to sustain the USS Voyager's senior officers. It was composed of Talaxian spices, water and puréed ration cubes, and was filled with amino acids and carbohydrates. Although the taste was unpalatable – as Seven of Nine was quick to point out – this was irrelevant as it contained the requisite nutrients to keep the crew healthy. (VOY: "Year of Hell, Part II")
