Edward "Ed" Madden (24 March 19401 May 2004; age 64) is the actor who appeared in two episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series as Fisher, including the first pilot episode "The Cage" in 1964, where he was described in the script as the "Geologist". Scenes from this episode were later reused for the first season episodes "The Menagerie, Part I" and "The Menagerie, Part II".

Madden filmed his scenes for "The Cage" between Monday 30 November 1964 and Thursday 3 December 1964, and on Monday 7 December 1964 and Tuesday 8 December 1964 at Desilu Culver Stage 15 and Stage 16. He filmed his scenes for "The Enemy Within" on Tuesday 14 June 1966, Friday 17 June 1966 and Tuesday 21 June 1966 at Desilu Stage 9 and Stage 10.

Beside his work on Star Trek, Madden had guest roles in the "Man in a Chariot" episode of The Fugitive (1964, with Peter Duryea, Stewart Moss, and Gene Lyons), Death Valley Days (1965), and Cimarron Strip (1968, with Dallas Mitchell).
