In 2354, he was named as a Starfleet Operational Support Services officer on a directory placard at Starbase 32, Maxia sector. His room number was 45197. Charnock shared this room with George Stuart. (TNG: "Violations", directory)

In 2371, he was named as a crewmember aboard the USS Voyager in a crew manifest. (VOY: "Projections", crew manifest)

In an unknown, alternate future timeframe, he was named as an Advanced Technologies officer on the dedication plaque of the USS Pasteur. (TNG: "All Good Things..." dedication plaque)

Charnock was named for art department painter Ed Charnock, Jr.
