An economic forecast is a projection made of the future of a particular economy.

When the con artist posing as Ardra first appeared to the Ventaxians, in 2367, she presented a form containing guidelines "for a full census of the population with emphasis on productivity and economic forecasts" of the planet Ventax II.

Later, during a staff meeting aboard the USS Enterprise-D, the crew discussed the possibility of "Ardra" being a refugee from the Q Continuum, or even Q himself, Jean-Luc Picard noted that "Q would never bother with contracts", to which Deanna Troi added, "or be interested in economic forecasts", which Picard also noticed, tipping him off that she may be a nothing more than a "flim-flam artist." (TNG: "Devil's Due")
