"Echoes of the Void" was a musical solo composed by Harry Kim for his clarinet during the starship USS Voyager's crossing of the region of space known as "the Void".
Inspired by the region's lack of starlight and overwhelming emptiness, the piece was a haunting melody of lingering sadness. It was Kim's intention to perform the piece for the Voyager crew upon its completion. (VOY: "Night")
