Dynamite was an crude explosive used on Earth during the 20th century.
In 2374, the USS Voyager was captured by Hirogen forces and the crew made to take part in various lethal holodeck scenarios, one of which was set during World War II France. After The Doctor had disabled the neural interface suppressing Captain Kathryn Janeway's memory, she escaped from the scenario with ten pounds of dynamite and planted it in a Jefferies tube immediately beneath sickbay. As Hirogen had installed extra holo-emitters throughout the ship and disabled the holodeck safety protocols, the dynamite exploded causing severe damage to sickbay, killing one Hirogen in the process.
