Droxine

Diana Ewing as Droxine

Diana Ewing (born 4 January 1946; age 78) portrayed Droxine in "The Cloud Minders", a third season episode of Star Trek: The Original Series. Her acting career spans only eight years, from 1969 through 1977.

Along with Star Trek, Ewing guest-starred on six different series in 1969, including The Mod Squad (starring Tige Andrews and Clarence Williams III), Mission: Impossible (which, like Star Trek, was produced at Desilu; her episode also guest-starred Anthony Zerbe), and Gunsmoke (in an episode with Sid Haig). She also made her feature film debut that year, with a supporting role in the drama 80 Steps to Jonah, directed by Gerd Oswald.

Ewing went on to appear in episodes of such series as Lancer (with Jason Wingreen), The Most Deadly Game (with Vince Howard), The Girl with Something Extra (starring Teri Garr and William Windom), Harry O (starring Henry Darrow, in an episode with Walker Edmiston and Michael Strong), Archer (with Antoinette Bower and Brian Keith), Petrocelli (starring Susan Howard and David Huddleston, in an episode with Michael Bell), Police Story (in an episode directed by Alexander Singer and co-starring Elisha Cook, Jr.), Matt Helm (directed by John Newland and co-starring Whit Bissell and Jonathan Lippe), and The Rockford Files (with Craig Wasson). She also appeared in two more films: 1972's Play It As It Lays, Sydney Pollack's 1973 Academy Award-winning musical The Way We Were (co-starring Roy Jenson and Don Keefer), and the 1974 western thriller A Knife for the Ladies.

Ewing was last seen in the 1977 mini-series Washington: Behind Closed Doors. Among her co-stars on this series were fellow Star Trek alumni Phillip Richard Allen, Meg Foster, Skip Homeier, and Alan Oppenheimer.
