Diamagnetic storm

A diamagnetic storm in 2152

A diamagnetic storm is a weather anomaly.

In 2152, Enterprise NX-01 encountered a diamagnetic storm while surveying some ruins on an alien planet. The landing party came into trouble when the polaric bursts from the storm interfered with their shuttlepod's systems, and polarizing the hull plating would most likely have attracted the intense discharges. Therefore, the transporter had to be used, but could only transport one person at a time. During transport of Ensign Hoshi Sato, there was some trouble reintegrating her matter stream, but Lieutenant Malcolm Reed eventually managed to beam her aboard successfully. (ENT: "Vanishing Point")
