A dessert was any one of numerous forms of edible confections usually following a dinner or a supper. These confections could also follow a lunch. Desserts usually contained sucrose, or other forms of sugars.

During a game of cards on the catwalk in 2152, Hoshi Sato ran out of her dessert ration packs and placed broccoli as her bet. (ENT: "The Catwalk")
