Design Team 7 was one of the teams assigned to the Theoretical Propulsion Group, which was responsible for the construction of the subspace warp field propulsion for the USS Enterprise-D. This group was based at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards.
After spending time at the Daystrom Institute as a research assistant, Doctor Leah Brahms joined this team as a junior engineer. She was later promoted to team leader. Her team was responsible for improving the dilithium crystal servo subsystem and plasma resonance sampling device for the Theoretical Propulsion Group Project.
