Denevan sun remastered — Denevan sun (2267)

The Denevan sun was the primary in the Deneva system.

In 2267, a Denevan pilot that had been infected by neural parasites flew his small one-man ship into the star in order to remove the parasites influence on him. Although the ultraviolet radiation generated from the star removed the influence, he died seconds later when his ship burnt up. (TOS: "Operation -- Annihilate!")

According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 45), Deneva (Kappa Fornacis) was located in or near Federation space. Classified as a G-class star, it had a magnitude of +5, which was the same brightness as Sol.
