The Deneb system was an inhabited star system in Federation space. (TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before", et al.) In the mid-2360's, the inhabitants of the fourth planet built the second Farpoint Station for the use of the Federation and their starships.

In 2364, the starship USS Enterprise-D visited the system to investigate the construction history of the first Farpoint Station. (TNG: "Encounter at Farpoint")
