Deck plating or floor plating was the term for the metal flooring used on the decks of starships and space stations.

In 2151, Captain Jonathan Archer was irritated by a squeaking noise coming from under the deck plating in his ready room aboard Enterprise NX-01. He attempted to localize the sound, without success. (ENT: "Fight or Flight") The noise ceased after Enterprise underwent repairs at an automated repair station. (ENT: "Dead Stop")

In June of 2151, Lieutenant Malcolm Reed was in command aboard Enterprise and during a hostage situation at the monastery at P'Jem, where Captain Archer, T'Pol, and Trip Tucker were held prisoners, Reed was running from one point on the bridge to the next. Travis Mayweather told him he was "wearing a hole into the deck plating". (ENT: "The Andorian Incident")

When searching for a missing communicator following an away mission to an alien planet, Hoshi Sato informed Captain Archer that she searched the whole Shuttlepod 1 except tearing up the floor plating. (ENT: "The Communicator")

To destroy the Hirogen's neural interfaces, Captain Kathryn Janeway planned to access the Jefferies tube under the deck plate of sickbay to place an explosive. (VOY: "The Killing Game, Part II")
