Sevrin's girl 2

...as Girl #1

Deborah Downey (born 1950) is a former actress who, at the young age of 18, played Girl #1 in the Star Trek: The Original Series episode "The Way to Eden". She filmed her scenes between Friday 22 November 1968 and Friday 29 November 1968 at Desilu Stage 9 and Stage 10. She was also called in for a music recording session on Wednesday 20 November 1968, and a makeup and costume test on Thursday 21 November 1968 at Stage 9.

Along with episode writer Arthur Heinemann, who contributed the lyrics, and co-star Charles Napier, she wrote the music featured in the episode. She provided her own vocals as well. She and Napier also appeared together that year in a Western called The Hanging of Jake Ellis. Her album, Painting Pictures, features Heading Into Eden, a reworked version of a song from the episode. She retired from acting shortly after appearing on Star Trek. Since that time, she has made her living as a noted painter, under the name Deborah Lyons. Her portraits include astronaut Rick Searfoss and Trek-creator Gene Roddenberry. She has also done portraits of Star Trek actors.
