Mavig Mavig

Deborah Downey was an actress who played Mavig in the Star Trek: The Original Series episode "The Way to Eden". Along with episode writer Arthur Heinemann, who contributed the lyrics, and co-star Charles Napier, she wrote the music featured in the episode. She provided her own vocals as well. She and Napier also appeared together that year in a Western called The Hanging of Jake Ellis. Her album, Painting Pictures, features Heading Into Eden, a reworked version of a song from the episode. She retired from acting shortly after appearing on Star Trek. Since that time, she has made her living as a noted painter, under the name Deborah Lyons. Her portraits include astronaut Rick Searfoss and Trek-creator Gene Roddenberry. She has also done portraits of Star Trek actors.
